Republican Rep. Scott Garrett won a seventh term on Tuesday after a spirited challenge from Democratic newcomer Roy Cho that argued Garrett was too conservative for North Jersey.

Garrett, 55, of Wantage, touted his commitment to cutting federal spending and regulations and to opposing President Obama’s policies, while Cho said Garrett had “extremist views” because he cast many votes against measures other New Jersey Republicans supported.

  1. Proof positive that no matter how many lawn signs you put up, no-one in the history of the world ever made a voting decision due to seeing a lawn sign.

  2. True that. In fact, sometimes it has the opposite effect.

  3. I don’t care which party you are endorsing, if I see a lawn sign, I immediately assume that the people that live there are idiots.

  4. Cho was a miserable candidate – he had to be to lose to a Republican in this state.

  5. Some dummy said…….Once again, Garrett failed to carry Ridgewood.

Hey Dummy, Garrett failed to carry Ridgewood because fools from NY City & the Bloomberg nanny state who moved here voted for the fake candidate who moved to this district.

Anyone who is highly educated wouldn’t have voted for Cho. Fortunately, the highly-educated, well-informed Garrett supporters carried the day

    …and the governor is ???

  7. Garrett beating CHO was as inevitable as Booker beating Bell

The only difference is the ideological blinders worn by (a majority of) RW residents and the media hyping “Garrett in trouble”

    agreed…

in case ANYONE is not convinced how FAR LEFT Ridgewood is…

remember that Ridgewood was one of ONLY FOUR towns in Bergen County to choose OBAMA over CLINTON in the 2008 Dem primary

the others being ENGLEWOOD, TEANECK and the RW suburb of HoHoKus…

  9. As a long time resident, I have noticed how the new residents from NYC bring their attitudes with them, along with their left wing views.
The last place on the planet I’d consider living is Teaneck, and Montclair is a close second.
Almost time to put up the for-sale sign and let some limousine liberal from NYC overpay for my home as I head for a better tax environment in the sun.
    RIP good old Ridgewood.
