Republican Jack Ciattarelli conceded on Friday, giving incumbent Phil Murphy a much closer-than-expected victory in the New Jersey governor’s race .
In a class move Ciattarelli said , “I called Gov. Murphy earlier today and congratulated him on his re-election and wished him well in serving the people of New Jersey,” Ciattarelli told supporters at a news conference.
Ciattarelli’s concession speech hardly had the feel of failure the packed meeting room where he once sat on the dais as a councilman, Ciattarelli received standing applause when he said he’d run for governor again.
Ciattarelli vowed that he would stay engaged in politics, saying he will continue to be a vocal advocate to lower the state’s taxes and improve its economic climate and said he is making plans to run for governor in for years .
Ciattarelli’s strong performance and that of Republicans statewide seems to prove that the NJGOP can win races in a state with a million more registered Democratic voters
A great effort…Jack has a future in this state.
IF RINO JACK HAD RECONCILED WITH HIS REPUBLICAN CANIDATES AFTER HIS PRIMARY WIN, MORE PEOPLE MIGHT HAVE COME OUT FOR HIM.HE NOT ONLY BAD MOUTHED THEM,HE PISSED OFF THE TRUMP VOTERS!! JACK YOU GOT WHAT YOU DESERVE!!
IS THERE ANY BETTER RED FLAG THAN SOMEONE WHO WRITES IN ALL CAPS I’D REALLY LIKE TO KNOW
