The Ridgewood Board of Education (BOE) has named a new district business administrator to replace retiring Assistant Superintendent of Business Angelo DeSimone.

“I just want to thank everyone for this opportunity. I think it’s going to be a really great fit,” said Michael Falkowski, who has worked since 2010 as a school business administrator in West Essex Regional School district. He has also worked in the private sector.

“I think he’s a great choice. We did some pretty extensive interviewing. He’s certainly the best candidate,” DeSimone told The Ridgewood News, noting that the district did “a day’s worth” of interviews, speaking to about six candidates after they “paper-screened a lot more than that.”

  1. The patch listed that he is making $165,000. Why so much money? He was only making $121,000 in his last job and DeSimone was making $145,000. Did the board check this out? nice to be able to get a $44,000 raise. Isn’t the point when someone retires we try to save money and get the next person for less. Funny how the Board will say it’s a savings when the teachers leave they can hire their replacement for half the cost, why doesn’t that go for the business administrator?
