Ridgewood NJ,heard thru the proverbial grape vine and now confirmed that Rurik and Cynthia Halaby held a Meet the Candidates Forum last night at the Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club. They had a large turn out including Jeff Voigt, Paul,Aronsohn, Roberta Sonenfeld. Gwenn Hauck, Siobhan Winograd and Paul Vagianos.
Paul Vagionas spoke that he would not be running because his heart wasn’t in it but introduced Alexandra Harwin who is the wife of the Temple Beth Or Rabbi in Washington Township. I heard she was very well spoken. Then the group begged for others in the room to step and run in the upcoming election. There were sign up sheets for various campaign activities. It is all so behind the scenes just as everything Paul Aronsohn did when he was Mayor. She didn’t make the cut to fill the empty BOE seat, so I guess she’s going to give this a try. During last night’s Village Council meeting, Rurik Halaby accused Mayor Susan Knudsen of personally orchestrating a web based smear campaign against his candidate (Alexandra Harwin). Halaby alleged that The Ridgewood Blog was being used “headquarters” for this activity.

The invite only route to purportedly public candidate discussions is the same one taken last time around by Aronson, Pucc, Vag and others. It backfired miserably. The people running the events painted themselves as nothing more than a cabal trying to steer the public fisc to their own selfish goals.
Let’s see what self-interested restaurantors and developers jump on the bandwagon for this candidate. That will tell the whole story.
Someone suggested that the opponents find out in how many elections did she vote since her recent arrival. Has she requested paperwork from the Village so that she can gain a background into all the current controversies? Does she have any idea what she will actually be in for if she runs? The two Pauls are very smooth and could easily talk someone into doing something that they are unaware of what is involved and may be unprepared to learn what’s going on. And, if she runs, will they allow her to go to coffees and answer questions? We may be surprised to find out she is perfectly capable but being attached to that group just adds an unpleasant smell to her actions.
Ms Harwin will suddenly appear at meetings and try to study up on key issues under Aronsohn tutelage. If she hasn’t started attending she should watch last night’s video to see she’s now connected to nasty halaby, ridiculous Shiovan and duche bag Jeff. Of course ms harwin watch the now infamous douche bag video. reviewi old footage to get a better idea of yoir supporters .How about the only man with a day job threatening a resident or Aronsohn intimidating and bullying a female resident. Maybe watch Voight screaming fu*# you at the village manager. Roberta ugh and oy the material. How about when harwins supporter pnched a resident or councilwoman clueless Hauck calling out a poor resident.

how much donation is she accepting from the builders and developers and the valley lobby for her campaign?
7:47 That could be a very deciding question? Obviously she does not want to run a “clean campaign” (not taking any money or limiting the amount that each individual can contribute.) The group that she is attached to are able to flood the newspapers and even TV to try to draw out every complainer in Ridgewood to vote for her. Hopefully, Susan and Mike will be able to find some “big money” sources but even if that is possible, the funds will be split between them. This coming election is getting dirtier everyday!
7:47 – I will give Ms. Harwyn the benefit of the doubt that she wanted to run a clean campaign. I will also give her the benefit of the doubt that she has now been educated as to the filth she was seduced by. And now she will step aside and let someone else do their dirty work.
