Ridgewood Nj, as if the alarming, disconcerting, unwarranted, and targeted diatribe during Tuesday morning’s Fields Committee meeting wasn’t bad enough, Councilperson Siobhan Winograd publicly blamed the horrifying incident on the wrath’s recipient.
An unintentional comment made by the diatribe’s recipient was instead mis-characterized by Councilperson Winograd as an “unwelcomed joke” that triggered the outburst. How absurd. One wonders what Ms. Winograd has to say about female victims of sexual assaults who were wearing something other than a potato sack when the assault occurred.
As pointed out by a resident who was present when the Councilperson made her ridiculous accusation, this isn’t the first time someone from the Village Council has publicly laid blame on a victim. A woman who was physically assaulted during a Village Council meeting was first chastised by Mayor Paul Vagianos for reacting verbally to the incident in the meeting room, then blamed by the Mayor for taking a video of the alleged perpetrator just prior to being assaulted.
And these are two of the people we elected to lead our community. How sad.
It’s time for a change. Election day can’t come soon enough.

She is getting in her comments in now because Kwak will run circles around her when she is elected to the council
She may want to live in a bubble but it isn’t realistic and Ridgewood is becoming a richly diverse community and if she is deliberatly cherry picking then she is playing a game and residents can clearly see that she is not only condoning bullies but her favoritism is skewed. Discrimination is not ok.

She’s right though. Kwak started to use the word “lynch” and realized the play on his name only as she said it, but it triggered him.
Winograd basically said I stand with bullies. At same council meeting where bullying prevention month was acknowledged. where this cop with serious anger management issues was promoted. Where mayor berated public members for smiling or talking quietly to each other. Can’t make this up.

She is a disaster, and it seems that her parents did her a diservice as her value system is screwed up.
We’ve had some bad really bad council persons in past administrations but Winograd is in a league of her own. she is not a leader along with Vagianos, Perron, Kazmark, Weitz and many people believe that Winograd doesn’t belong on the council. She is really a dim bulb and what value does she bring to the Village? Now she is actually condoning bullying and blaming a woman of color who was victimized?

This council person has displayed very unprofessional behavior. She does not seem to be capable of being a role model for the young minds in Ridgewood. This kind of behavior should be diffused not ignited which is what she is trying to do. It is unkind and excludes people who are not part of her little political circus, I mean, circle.
Since all we seem to do is shovel contaminated dirt , and there is an awful lot of it in this community these days, on top of dealing with municipal leaders who have displayed a serious lack of ethics, lack of integrity, bad judgement to name a few, let’s just call a spade a spade (pun intended).
When you have Mayor Vagianos, deputy mayor Perron and 2 council persons, Winograd and Weitz, who believe they are heros by catering to the sports groups, what do you expect. Add in the Village Manager who keeps moving around like a real life version of Where’s Waldo who also might be hiding a few secrets, you end up with people who think it is okay to say anything or try to get away with anything.
The lack of accountability is just another thing to add to this council’s checklist.
If she had been attacked like that, Winograd would have cried then filed a restraining order and gone on RW mom & dads & played victim

I watched both the Fields replay and Council meeting on YouTube as a few people suggested
Lynch sprung a leak and Whinograd rubbed some salve cream on his woukd and gave him a bandaid to make the boo boo better. Only problem is he’s a grown man representing an official organization coaching kids and she’s sn elected official representing the residents of the Village of Ridgewood. Shame on both of you.

Perhaps Ms. Winograd believes the best way to silence an entire community is through public gaslighting.
She did try to get away with it but people knew what she was up to. Really a disgusting display for a “public” official. Really sets a bad example for Ridgewood’ future and the kids that look at adults as role models.
