The USGA accepted 7,749 entries for the 2022 tournament, which was the fourth-highest in history. After 96 qualifiers, 312 players will make the field at Ridgewood, in which each player will play 18 holes of stroke play on both Aug. 15 and 16, with one round taking place at Ridgewood and the other round taking place at Arcola Country Club in Paramus.
The lowest 64 scorers will then advance to match play on Aug. 17. The championship will conclude with a 36-hole match on Aug. 21.
The 122nd U.S. Amateur Championship is looking for those interesting in those volunteering at Arcola Country Club and The Ridgewood Country Club during the championship.
Volunteers play an essential role in conducting a USGA championship. We sincerely appreciate those who generously donate their time. Hosting the U.S. Amateur requires more than 600 volunteers! While there is no required minimum number of shifts — and we appreciate any time you can offer — we hope you will consider working multiple shifts throughout these seven days. Giving back to the game you love, and helping our community and players from around the world, will create lasting memories.
