Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters required shovels to free the driver of an Audi sedan who was trapped inside of her vehicle after it was broadsided by a BMW SUV on Friday afternoon, and pushed into a snowbank.  The accident occurred at approximately 2:20 PM in front of 81 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood.  No one was injured in the collision, but the Audi and BMW both sustained major damage and were removed by separate tow trucks.  One summons was issued to the BMW’s driver in connection with the crash.  The BMW was exiting the King’s Shopping Plaza and collided with the Audi, which was traveling northbound on North Maple Avenue.

  1. No surprise here as cars traveling on maple are always well over the speed limit.

  2. That exit from Kings is a really bad one, it’s a steep grade and probably without enough sand.

Stinking weather…. doesn’t help much …. King’s should pay for a crossing guard at buy hours as a business expense. Check with the realtor mgmt. company on this one.

  3. The Chamber and safety should look into this one. Especially with the Library, Village business office right across the street.

Village engineer not much help here. He’d probably ask time and cost for a traffic count and study.

  4. Lets blame everything else, weather, steep grade, not enough sand and the best crossing guard. Never but never the driver exiting the parking lot. The drive on Maple ave had the right a way.

  5. #4, you forgot the real culprit: Obama. Typical liberal media.

  6. I accident and you people want to have chamber and Safety look into this . That’s why they call them accidents. Get it!

  7. #4 I agree. It was an accident and the driver on Maple had. The right of way. No need for a study, accidents happen. Glad no one was seriously injured.

  8. It’s Bush’s fault!
