Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Emergency Services wants to congratulate the 11 Ridgewood High School Volunteer members on their graduation from Ridgewood High School.

Captain Corrine Scarpa said that this is a “group of students that we are very proud of, one of our largest groups graduating in recent years. These members will be attending such colleges as: Rutgers, Quinnipiac University, University of South Carolina, Villanova University, Cornell University, NYU, and George Washington University. They were the recipients of many awards and honors at the Graduation.”
Several of these students have completed the EMT course with over 200 hours classroom training and followed by countless hours in the field and taking regular volunteer shifts. “It’s an intense commitment by these students on top of their other daily responsibilities from school and family and working a job”.

Acting Chief Ryan Savaria added that “The students do come back to volunteer in the Village when back from College during breaks and holidays. Most of them will volunteer as EMTs at the Colleges they attend. Savaria continued “many of our members have continued in their studies and became Doctors, Nurses and other medical professionals from their early experiences with Ridgewood Emergency Services.
