Ridgewood NJ, RHS and Harvard fencer Mitchell Saron ’23-’24, known for his dominance in the sport, is poised to represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Saron, a standout athlete for the men’s fencing team across three seasons, has earned this prestigious opportunity through his dedication and hard work during his post-graduate year. This will mark his debut appearance at the Olympic Games.

Saron, a Ridgewood High School Grad and Ridgewood native got his start the Bergen Fencing Club in Waldwick.

Confirming his selection to USA’s 2024 Olympic fencing team, Saron expressed his excitement for the upcoming competition.

Although Saron’s time with Harvard’s fencing program was shortened due to the cancellation of the 2020-2021 season amid the Covid-19 pandemic, he maximized his tenure in Cambridge. Saron’s outstanding achievements include three First-team All-Ivy honors, one First-team All-American recognition, one Second-team All-American honor, and an individual NCAA title.

Throughout the current academic year, Saron has continued to showcase his prowess on both team and individual platforms. His recent victory at the Men’s Sabre World Cup in Budapest further solidifies his status as a dominant force in the fencing world.
