Details of the Incident
The altercation took place on December 22, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m. at a residence on Arbor Crest Court in northeast Charlotte. A violent dispute between the two family members reportedly escalated, leaving Edward with severe head injuries, including heavy bruising, swelling, and bleeding.
Emergency responders transported Edward to a local hospital, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on December 23.
Investigation and Arrest
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) responded to the domestic violence call and initiated an investigation. By 8:30 a.m. on December 22, Daniel Sansone was taken into custody.
He was charged with multiple offenses, including:
- Murder
- Assault causing serious bodily injury
- Nonsupport of a child
Daniel is being held under a $125,500 bond as the investigation continues. CMPD has not yet confirmed the nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim, citing the active status of the case.

Edward was the nicest human being you could ever know, he would do anything to help someone if he could! My wife and I knew Edward through his hair salon in Midland Park, The Hair Studio.
