Miami FL, Kim Ng, a Ridgewood High School graduate, has made history . The Miami Marlins Baseball organization has named Ng as the team’s new general manager, making her Major League Baseball’s first female General Manager, the team announced in a news release Friday.
Prior to joining the Marlins, Ng served as MLB’s senior vice president of baseball operations, a role she held for the past nine years. Before that, she served as assistant general manager for the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ng is the daughter of a financial analyst and a banker, a 1986 RHS graduate , and a high school softball star. She was inducted as a Distinguished Alumni in 2008 and holds a degree in public policy from the University of Chicago.
