Eat, read and dance in support of the Ridgewood Public Library Foundation at Novel Night, Volume One on Saturday, October 5, 2013. Proceeds from this event will support the Library Renaissance, beginning with the new Teen Center on the first floor.
Event guests will join friends and neighbors at one of 20 Ridgewood dinner parties featuring tantalizing menus inspired by a book selected by the host. Book selections include “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, “Like Water for Chocolate” by Laura Esquivel and “50 Shades of Grey” by E.L. James.
After dinner, guests will make their way to the Ridgewood Library for the Dessert Party featuring Ridgewood ’s own Dads’ Night Band, sumptuous desserts, and an open bar.

Those lawn signs are terrible. They are small and they give no info. I thought it was a book group. I am sure that someone thought that it would build interest but they should be replaced with one readable sign.
“Novel themed progressive dinner to benefit the Ridgewood Library.” Or something else, anything but what they did.

We had such success with our cows 2 years ago, but this effort is not nearly as good. I didn’t really want an advertisement per say, just something to get the buzz going and to bring in additional revenue for the young adult area of the library.
The point was that you would start noticing them all around town and get your info from other places–like the train trestle, and all the posters etc etc.

BTW however, the artwork is terrific. Look closely. And then come to the party on Oct 5. The library website has all the details.
I never saw the other signs that were supposed to fill in the blanks. I avoid downtown Ridgewood.
