Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Library Reimagine is a form of layaway plan to the scale of 8,000,000 dollars.
Village guarantees the project cost and Library then pays as it can without specific time guidelines. Holy moly!
There is no intent or plans to raise sufficient donations in advance of the project start. And as I noted, the chances of Ridgewood getting the full or any amount of the to be applied NJ Library grant isn’t good.
Let’s wake up here because Village (we) can be on the hook for a lot for the visions of few. Time for a serious reality check.
I feel very uncomfortable with all of this proposed spending, like the decision makers are treating village residents like an open checkbook. Don’t understand why Village residents can’t vote on whether we want this, or not. I don’t like debt personally, and I don’t think Ridgewood should be signing up for more debt. It will cripple us.
Sounds like a plan.

‘cuz…
.
We’re RICH and STUPID.
.
Any village spending above BAU expenses should be put to a referendum.
Here’s the catch Anon…
You think your rich but your definitely stupid.
