Ridgewood Man Charged Obstruction, Resisting Arrest & Possession of fraudulent government ID During a Fair Lawn Motor Vehicle Stop

Fair Lawn NJ, on Friday the 14th of January at 9:02 pm Fair lawn Detective  Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on First Street in Paterson and while speaking to the operator, Richard Lawson, age 29 of Paterson, a second vehicle arrived. The operator of that vehicle, Ewan Gordon, age 27 of Ridgewood, began to interfere with the motor vehicle stop and after multiple requests for Gordon to leave, Detective Buitron went to arrest Gordon when he ran from the detective. Once captured by Detective Buitron and P.O. Matthew Hearon, he continued to fight the officers until he was secured.

Lawson, who had arrest warrants out of Fair Lawn ($500) & Glen Rock ($100), was charged with operating an unregistered vehicle, operating with a suspended license & failing to possess motor vehicle documents, then was transported to Bergen County Jail. Gordon was released after being charged with obstruction, resisting arrest & possession of fraudulent government identification.

Chief Glen Cauwels stated all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

    10/21/2021 – 1:07 am Wanted Person: P.O. Matthew Hearon initiated a motor vehicle stop on Maple Avenue at Harristown Road and arrested the operator, Ewan Gordon, age 27 of Ridgewood, after arrest warrants totaling $3,000 were located out of Paterson. He was handed over to Paterson Police.
