Ridgewood Police Department Pedestrian Decoy Program

Ridgewood NJ, Since August 24th 2010 the Ridgewood Police Department initiated it’s Engineering, Education and Enforcement program to address traffic and pedestrian related safety issues.
As part of this program the department has been conducting pedestrian decoy details. These details started with a high focus on education and progressively developed to a high enforcement focus.
Doesn’t our 125 k plus Chief of Police have duties other than conducting pedestrian decoy details. Can’t the same thing be done without such a high price employee walking in the cross walk. Yes that’s our Chief in the picture.
No because all the lower paid employees that are left, are answering calls. You don’t cut a police dept. from 52 to 39 people and think you will have the manpower to remain pro-active. Do the math!
I never see a Sergeant or Lieutenant doing the crossing or are they answering call along with the Captain. Please!
Mid level supervisors have just been replaced but with the double duty they are all pullin you probably not see one one a detail like that. The number of indians has not increased the ptl.’s promoted have not been replaced. the pd is still in the reactive mode and doesn’t have the manpower to be pro active
he makes more then a 125. and for man power 52 to 39 well yes its not good. what about the street dept. 28 to 6 talk about pro active, I would say that dept got screwed big time.

no problem, as long all the tax people in the village know that most of the money they pay in tax will go to the top three , and that is the b o e, fire, and police. so people stop going after the little guy.
