Ridgewood NJ, each year, the Ridgewood Public Schools community comes together to recognize individuals who go above and beyond in their service to the district. Two prestigious awards honor the dedication and contributions of staff members: the Ashby Award and the Tradition of Excellence Award.
Donna Skettini Receives the 2024 Ashby Award
Established in 1966, the Ashby Award is named in honor of former Superintendent Lloyd W. Ashby and his wife, Lois, for their distinguished service to the community. This award is the highest honor that Ridgewood Public Schools can bestow on a staff member and recognizes someone who has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the district.
This year’s Ashby Award recipient is Donna Skettini from Benjamin Franklin Middle School. Nominated by her colleagues, Donna has been recognized for her tireless efforts to uphold the district’s long-standing tradition of service and excellence. Her peers believe she exemplifies the dedication and values that make Ridgewood such a special place to learn and work.
Cowell Fuller Honored with the Tradition of Excellence Award
The Tradition of Excellence Award, first introduced in 2014, shines a light on exceptional support staff members, including secretaries, paraprofessionals, custodians, maintenance workers, and food service personnel. These individuals play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the school district and often work behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
This year, the Ridgewood community celebrates Cowell Fuller, a custodian at Benjamin Franklin Middle School, as the recipient of the 2024 Tradition of Excellence Award. Cowell’s unwavering dedication to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff has earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues.
