  1. Better lock that bike up. There has been a rash of thefts in town.

  2. Glad they are requiring experience in municipal government, something that Roberta lacked

  3. I still don’t really understand why Heather cannot be a permanent appointment. She may not have the certifications she needs but she sure has had all the experience required. She’s had lots of practice in being Acting Village manager so why can’t she be the real one?

  4. Heather does not want the job. She’s tenured in her position as Village Clerk. If she took the Manager’s job, she could be fired in a heartbeat.

  5. Are the requirements a new thing? If not, why were the requirements waved for Roberta Sonenfeld? Her inexperience cost our Village BIG!

Did you consider that she does not want it?

  7. “Candidates should have some familiarity with Ridgewood, its neighborhoods and operations.” Many good potential hires will not have this box checked. One wonders if it could have been articulated more inclusively. For example, it might have been written this way: “familiarity with Ridgewood, its neighborhoods and operations is a plus, but not a requirement”, or something similar.

  8. Who was Rurik talking about at the last council meeting? He made some remark to Ramon about putting his friend into the position.

  9. 07451 is ZIP Code for CBD only. Village Hall’s is 07450.

  10. These requirements were most definitely in place when Sonenfeld was hired. Albert, Paul and Gwenn had their minds made up on Roberta, and they had the majority vote, so they got her in. Bermie Walsh and Tom Riche voted against her and stated their reasons including that Roberta was not experienced and that at least one applicant was highly qualified as well as experienced. Bernie and Tom stated their reasons at the meeting when the voted no. As a result we got a train wreck. Roberta admitted knowing nothing about civil service. Seriously. And we know the along list of underhanded and ethically questionable stunts she pulled during her 2.5 years. This council will hire the right person. I have full faith.

  11. How about mr john spano as the village manager,
