Ridgewood NJ, a municipal tax increase of 4.83% was approved by Ridgewood Village Council members on Thursday evening, 04/27 via a 4-0 roll call vote. Councilperson Lorraine Reynolds was absent. There were no public comments made during the Budget Hearing.
The average Ridgewood homeowner will pay $244 more in property taxes this coming year for municipal services. This is the largest municipal tax increase since 2011.

Thanks to the old mayor and council for not doing the right things that needed fixing. Oh and over spending. No concerns on police or fire departments over time budget. Now look what its at.

Well that’s just swell. A 5% increase and I am sure there was a real effort to cut costs and reduce waste. When will we learn eh? Meet the new boss, same as the old boss who all graduated cum laude from the the school of OPM. It may be early but I find it interesting that more have commented on the sidewalk to nowhere which only costs $100,000 versus a 5% increase in everyone’s taxes or on average $244 more per year for each household. A 4-0 vote in favor of the increase with no public comments made during the Budget Hearing was most telling. And I thought people were burnt out from debating the benefits of a new ball field….
Lorraine has proved herself to be a coward. Much like Susan not showing up for the council transition. Come on Lorraine could it be more obvious.

Lorraine is left out of the bulk of the secret discussions that Paul, Evan, Pam and the stick figure without soul are having. She is the only one who’s head is screwed on straight. And yet week after week old man RH tries to blame her for pretty .uch everything. It is also very unprofessional and unbecoming of local govt officials as there is a lot of snickering going on during meetings. I guess the VC are all drinking giggle juice cause something must be really funny and it isn’t our tax increase!
Well, when you have 44 police officers, 44 firefighters, and a total of 1,777 employees, people wonder why their taxes are so high. Then they keep on approving all the new apartment/condos so that they can keep giving themselves raises because you know, they don’t make enough. Look here for their 2021 salaries.
