Mayor Official Facebook Page Copy 1

by the staff of The Ridgewood Blog

Ridgewood NJ, you got that right. Selected comments submitted for posting to the Mayor’s official Facebook page were deliberately hidden, which was in violation of NJ Open Public Records Act.

As a result of complaints made to Village Attorney Matthew S. Rogers and to the ACLU – New Jersey, the issue has now been corrected, said Attorney Rogers during a public meeting of the Village Council on Wednesday night. All comments sent for inclusion on the Mayor’s official Facebook page should now be visible.

No admission of guilt was offered by the Mayor, who was present when Mr. Rogers provided details regarding the complaint, nor was there an apology offered.

And so it goes . . .

The Mayor will never, ever admit to doing anything wrong. Right Becky?

His motto is: “control the message, even if you have to break the law to do it.” What a guy.

Regardless of what Matt Rogers said last night, I still know of people who are BLOCKED from commenting on the Mayor’s page.

Seriously. WTF? Vagianos is a liar. Hiding a comment is not blocking. So that’s ok? He is such a sneaky piece of slime. Thankfully the public is watching.

You were dying to be the mayor, Mr. V., and you did it. Isn’t it fun? “sneaky piece of slime,” etc.

Allegations also surfaced at last night’s meeting that Councilperson Winograd has been conducting discussions about Village business on a heavily censored & somewhat membership restricted Facebook page. This group has to be watched very closely. They believe they’re above the law.

Oh my GOD!!!! This Vagianos is not believable. He says that HIDING comments by members of the public is OK, because he did not BLOCK them? So Paulie- Boy – If playing hide and seek, if I am blocked from view by a wall, am I hidden but not blocked? Are you for effing real???

      My opinion…

Matt Rogers is a waste of time and space. He’s a totally empty suit who is funded by (wait for it) … the taxpayers!

We need an INDEPENDENT attorney – not a puppet of the council members!

Oh, and there is a real estate-related matter that he opined on then had to walk back when he realized that his original opinion (which was factually correct, by the way), would have cost the Village millions of dollars!

      Fire Matt Rogers immediately!!!

This Village Council is a mess except our girl Lorraine who is the only sane individual alive and well on the dias! They feel they are above the law. There are tons of secret backroom deals and all kinds of sneaky stuff being crammed in and it is tax payer money. I don’t want to hear about being rich and stupid. It is a literal slap in the face to each of us who live here. C’mon people!

Yes, Paul “hid” them from view, same thing as blocking them, if you can’t see them they are essentially not there for viewing. Is Matt for real at the ultimate “yes” man stating that “In an effort to be transparent, Paul put them back”… that is laughable and ridiculous. He removed them from being seen, same difference. He like Siobahn and the latest one man show, Hallaby, apparently think censoring people and only have their view be seen is the way to go. I have news for you, you can fool people some of the time…but it will come back to bite you.

Speaking of bad lawyers, did you read where Alton Maddox died?

    He represented Tawana Brawley.

He couldn’t produce any evidence so he was ultimately disbarred.

You know people watching the council meeting yesterday they were talking about the village needs about 12 1/2 million dollars for repairs replacing major structureS that are beyond repair must be replaced, I think what we need to know is before we start bonding for more projects. At this point, I think the village taxpayers need to know how much money does the village owe . They keep on applauding themselves that they’re have a AAA bond rating that’s all well and good but you still have to pay back the money. Many of us have very good credit rating and we can go out and go buy a brand new high-end car, but then we need to pay you back the villages spending more money going out then coming in. I’m sorry the police budget, overtime, and the fire department in the end will bankrupt the village. These department store excellent job but look what it’s costing. We are cutting back in other departments to take care. Police fire emergency services EMTs. Hooray for them and screw everybody else. This is not good news.
