the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Breaking Update : (8:17 pm)the Ridgewood blog has learned that the now former Village manager was escorted out the building after misusing her Village email by sending out misinformation about her departure.
Ridgewood NJ, various sources have confirmed as of 9:17 am this morning Village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld as tendered her resignation . Her last official day is Friday . We are not sure if she will be at the Council meeting tomorrow night . Heather Mailander will take over temporary manager duties.
Come on James, you know who I meant by “army”. It starts with the giant Rurik who commands the respect of thousands of Ridgewoonites. With a wink he can make them get to tonight’s council meeting and wreck havoc. Look at FB post. Be careful, be veeeery careful.
like during the election?
I think I am in shock! It was inevitable that Roberta go. She made the horrible mistake of fawning over Paul and his Cronies. If she had stuck to her job she probably would still have one. Unfortunately, I was one to whom she always showed her good side but the things I have heard from the employees are simply outrageous. I assume she will expect good references (it’s illegal to give any negative comments. The worst one can be is “Neutral”.) And will certainly expect her pension. Let’s keep Heather for a change. She might not have the “Credentials” (and neither had Roberta) but her experience far outweighs any other nominee!
A village engineer who sucks up to the mayor and has ZERO!!!!! sense of aesthetics and minimal idea of the true intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act has created hideous poorly designed concrete lumps all over town and was eagerly planning to destroy Van Neste with Sonenfeld’s collusion until Mayor Susan wisely refused to sign a grant application slid under the council’s noses at the last minute by Sonenfeld. Hurray for Susan. But watch out for all the lighting we’re likely to get at Van Neste–as a result of Vagianos’s request, because his restaurant is a block away and Aronsohn pushed it through. The leftover projects must limp to a close.
She exhibited several episodes of unprofessionalism and inappropriate behavior to be our village manager. Her classless, drama-filled exit yesterday; interfering with citizen’s right to petition and most importantly spending over $200,000 of taxpayer money on a highly contested, questionable outcome of the garage. She signed construction documents committing to a floor plan for the garage BEFORE the November vote. She did not seem to understand that she reported to a 5 member council, that all 5 members represent residents. Her treatment towards 2 council members and residents was horrible and several displays of arrogant, disrespectful treatment not only displayed bad judgment but her incapability to manage effectively. I think all 5 council members should meet with each department again to reevaluate and understand what’s been going on (Roberta led meetings with new council members but her presence thwarted full disclosure from employees).
11:07 – how did he suck up to the Mayor, who, BTW, was his boss? Most of us do what we are told by our bossess? And what are the concrete “lumps” all over town? And can you explain the lack of aesthics? Engineers build, others designs so I am confused. Seriously, can you add some details to your statement.
ohh this is going to get real good, all dirty shit is going to come out, now the ridgewood new’s will sell more new’s papers. and for that hit list it’s a good one. time to clean up top .
She is taking the blame for everything people are mad about. The utility poles? Nit her problem. The ADA modifications were welcomed by most who need them. Renovations at Van Neste? Why not blame her for the Iraq war.
Chris R has had a long, successful tenure with the Village. He has done the best job that he was permitted to do. He did keep in mind both who he was responsible to as well as who pays his salary. he is not a Roberta flackey!
10:51. What are you smoking. Rurik can’t even get his wife behind him. Everyone laughs when Rurik speaks
2:32 – agree completely. I don’t think people in the Village understand just how much work, and the breadth of it, runs through the engineering department.
Yes 2:32 like the overworked Village Engineer writing tickets to Realestate brokers for having signs out. Thats a good use of his time.
well it,s that time to clean house from the top. boy o boy it,s time. they are all dirty at the top. hey whats this they put on a new manager on to replace john spano. is he going two. whats up with that. any one know. did they tell him to go two.
HE IS ON THAT LIST UP TOP.
Chris R. was real haughty and laughing when I spoke to him in person concerned about my fearing the possibility of Park Mobile being instituted around most of Ridgewood and Park and Ride without an option to put in coins. He was smirking at me. I am an elderly senior. This was about two years ago when Park Mobile first was being put in and Roberta and Aronsohn and Pucciarelli wanted it all over the place without a coin option. I don’t like him at all. Also he was real eager to chop down all the trees in Schedler to build an athletic field. No sympathy for wildlife there. I think he should be replaced. With all due respect.
11:05 I have never seen that side of Chris R. I also admit I have had only one limited contact with him, which was very positive. I also was unaware he was a tree-chopper. I guess with all the uproar about the others, I have never really looked at him–but, as I said, my only personal contact with him was very positive so I’ll wait to see which is the real Chris. I agree that Park Mobile should not be the only way to go. I, for one, do not own a smart phone. And, yes, I realize I am a dinosaur but age does have some privileges.
