Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Water has officially launched a major infrastructure project aimed at improving water service in the area near the Eastside Reservoir, also the future site of the Eastside PFAS Treatment Facility.
The Eastside Water Main Replacement Project began April 1 and is expected to continue for approximately six weeks, with work taking place weekdays from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Road Closures & Detours in Effect
As part of the project, the following roads will experience closures and detours during working hours:

East Saddle River Road
-
East Glen Avenue
-
Van Emburgh Avenue
Motorists are urged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time when navigating through the area. Signage and traffic control measures will be in place to ensure safety for both workers and drivers.
Project Progress Already Ahead of Schedule
According to Village Manager Keith Kazmark, the project is already a week ahead of schedule. Work on East Glen Avenue began this morning, with crews making a concerted effort to progress past Glen School during spring break to minimize disruptions.
“We’re happy to report that the Eastside Water Main Replacement Project is moving quickly,” Kazmark said. “The goal is to minimize impact on local schools and neighborhoods while completing this much-needed infrastructure upgrade.”

Good to see the infrastructure investment and coordination with schools. Hopefully the roads get fully paved when complete and not just uneven patch work.
