Ridgewood NJ, This is the Franklin Lakes library playground followed by the Wyckoff library playground.  Ridgewood library playground is open too, but don’t have a pic. This is probably county wide and it must be the first day. Upper Saddle River was closed yesterday.

Every day, in communities across the country, the people of parks and recreation are providing essential services and making their communities better places to live, work, and play.  Three in four Americans live within a 10-minute walk of a local park or other recreational facility and on average visit their local parks and rec facilities more than twice a month.  The services that park and recreation professionals provide are vital for our communities-from protecting open space and natural resources, providing opportunities for people of all ages to achieve healthier lifestyles bringing the community together through a variety of programs and services, and, most recently, providing essential services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

July is the perfect time to see what the Village of Ridgewood’s Park and Recreation Department has to offer and meet the people who work daily to provide these services.  During National Parks and Recreation month follow our facebook and instagram page to learn about programs, parks, Village history, and meet some familiar faces.  For more information on the importance of parks and recreation visit the National Parks and Recreation Association website at NRPA.org
