Mahwah NJ, the Bergen County Meet of Champions in cross-country has a rich history, dating back to 1973 for the boys and 1978 for the girls, when the county was divided into divisions. Prior to the creation of this meet, the boys had only one race from 1954 to 1964, and the girls had just one from 1974 to 1977. The event was named in honor of the late Lou Molino, the renowned Ramsey track and cross-country coach and athletic director, following his passing in 2011.

This year, at Darlington Park, Ridgewood achieved an impressive feat by sweeping the boys and girls team championships, marking the 11th time they have accomplished this distinction. Notably, Ridgewood is the sole school to have ever won titles in both genders. Their victory in the girls’ meet was their 33rd in 45 meets, with no other school having more than four wins. Furthermore, Ridgewood’s 17 titles in the boys’ meet equaled the record previously held by Don Bosco, highlighting their remarkable success in the cross-country championships.
