Ramsey NJ, a Jeep SUV veered off the roadway on Route 17 north near Lake Street in Ramsey and struck a tree leaving two people dead. The crash snarled rush-hour traffic in the area for hours on Tuesday as investigators worked to discern what caused the fatal collision.
Ramsey police chief, Brian Lyman, identified the two victims as 96-year-old Ethel Toth of Upper Saddle River, who was seated in the Jeep’s front passenger seat and died upon impact, and a 77-year-old Rhode Island man, George Sadue, who was driving.
