Security is going to cost money and will need to be built into the cost of running the schools. I agree with you that it’s money well spent. There is no source for that money that is not us. The state uses our money to run the state. If the state pays for something, then we’ve paid for that thing. The feds do the same. If they have money it’s come from us (or they printed it, which means, ironically, that the kids are paying for their own protection). If they get money through corporate taxes, we have paid the money to corporations in the price of what we buy from them. Are you suggesting that people in Camden or in Nebraska should pay to protect Ridgewood’s schools? Who then pays to protect theirs? Sadly the way our elected officials treat the residents of Ridgewood the way it will really work is that Ridgewood taxpayers will pay to protect schools in Camden and Nebraska in addition to our own…
Teachers with concealed carry would solve this problem. That’s the very reason it will NEVER EVER HAPPEN. In fact, blowhard Connecticut Senator Blumenthal just said that he will fight against such a proposal.

….If a potential “sicko shooter” knows that a school has a large number of very weapons talented teachers (and others) who will be instantly shooting, the sicko will NEVER attack that school. Cowards won’t go there…problem solved. Must be offensive, defense alone won’t work!

….History shows that a school shooting lasts, on average, 3 minutes. It takes police & first responders approximately 5 to 8 minutes to get to site of crime. Highly trained, gun adept, teachers/coaches would solve the problem instantly, before police arrive. GREAT DETERRENT!

I never said “give teachers guns” like was stated on Fake News @CNN & @NBC. What I said was to look at the possibility of giving “concealed guns to gun adept teachers with military or special training experience – only the best. 20% of teachers, a lot, would now be able to.
Let’s spend lots of money and blame guns because our goal is NOT to stop school shootings, but to remove guns from every aspect of American life because we hate guns (since we don’t use them) and it will make us feel better.

Sounds right on. That’s so true. The president is right re-open institutions immediately instead of having them walk the streets hire medication please I see this every day right here in Ridgewood, just the top politicians have no balls to keep somebody’s cuckoo birds behind a fence and a wall not walk the streets higher medication and drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes but a fiend, Yes that’s the truth my little birdie
