South Orange NJ, in a move that seems to have taken many by surprise Seton Hall President Joseph E. Nyre announced that he will take a sabbatical during the upcoming year, and then resign from his position as head of the university. He began his tenure as president in August 2019, and just finished the fourth year of a five-year contract with the university.
Nyre said he believed that the completion of Seton Hall’s three-year strategic plan, named Harvest our Treasures, marked the “appropriate time for new leadership.”
The search for Seton Hall’s 22nd president is expected to begin immediately. According to the Board of Regents, Nyre has agreed to serve as senior advisor to the university and will assist with the search.
