Saddle Brook NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of JAHAD FOXWORTH (DOB: 8/13/1998; single; unemployed) of Paterson, NJ; JAMERE DIXON (DOB: 10/21/2000; single; unemployed) of Garfield, NJ; JANCARLOS RODRIGUEZ (DOB: 3/15/2001; single; unemployed) of Elmwood Park, NJ; TYRA JONES (DOB: 3/22/1999; single; teacher’s aide) of Paterson, NJ; LANASIA SMITH (DOB: 10/27/1999; single; unemployed) of Paterson, NJ; VIRGILIO RODRIGUEZ (DOB: 3/15/1978; married; electrician) of Elmwood Park, NJ; and VERONICA RIVERA (DOB: 5/30/1976; married; bus driver) of Elmwood Park, NJ on charges related to an armed home invasion investigation in Saddle Brook, NJ. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Saddle Brook Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Captain John Zotollo.

On June 28, 2022 at approximately 12:32 a.m., officers from the Saddle Brook Police Department responded to a Saddle Brook residence for a report of an armed home invasion. The Saddle Brook Police Department notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad and a joint investigation was initiated.

During an approximate four-month-long investigation by these two agencies, JAHAD FOXWORTH, JAMERE DIXON, JANCARLOS RODRIGUEZ, TYRA JONES, and LANASIA SMITH were identified as suspects.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, BCPO detectives executed multiple search warrants and arrested FOXWORTH, DIXON, RODRIGUEZ, JONES, AND SMITH without incident. VIRGILIO RODRIGUEZ and VERONICA RIVERA were charged in relation to items found during the execution of the search warrant at the residence of JANCARLOS RODRIGUEZ and were also arrested without incident.

JAHAD FOXWORTH was charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5(b); second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4(a); second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2a(1)/2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree armed burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2a(1); second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7b; third-degree theft, N.J.S.A 2C:20-3a; and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(4).

JAMERE DIXON was charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5(b); second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4(a); second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2a(1)/2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree armed burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2a(1); third-degree theft, N.J.S.A 2C:20-3a; third-degree possession of cocaine, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(4).

JANCARLOS RODRIGUEZ was charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5(b); second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4(a); second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2a(1)/2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree armed burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2a(1); two counts of second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7b; second-degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5a(1)/2C:35-5b(2); second-degree possession with intent to distribute heroin, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5a(1)/2C:35-5b(2); third-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5a(1)/2C:35-5b(11); third-degree money laundering, N.J.S.A 2C:21-25a; third-degree theft, N.J.S.A 2C:20-3a; third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-6h; fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(4); and fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3j.

TYRA JONES was charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5(b); second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4(a); second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2a(1)/2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree armed burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2a(1); third-degree theft, N.J.S.A 2C:20-3a; third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-6h; and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(4).

LANASIA SMITH was charged with two counts of first-degree armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5(b); second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4(a); second-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2a(1)/2C:15-1(a)(1); second-degree armed burglary, N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2a(1); third-degree theft; third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-6h; and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(4).

VIRGILIO RODRIGUEZ was charged with two counts of fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3j.

VERONICA RIVERA was charged with fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3j.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella would like to thank the Saddle Brook Police Department, the Garfield Police Department, the Elmwood Park Police Department, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with the investigation.
