State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance with Serious Crash Investigation.
The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance with a serious motor vehicle crash investigation that occurred earlier today on Interstate 287.
Based on the preliminary investigation, at approximately 8:18 a.m., a black Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on Interstate 287, in Oakland Borough, Bergen County. In the area of milepost 58, a tire detached from an unknown vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes. The tire then crossed over the center median, entered the southbound lanes and struck the Ford causing serious injuries to the driver.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Totowa Station at 973-785- 9419. Anonymous tips are welcome.
