Oakland NJ, the Ramapo Indian Hills school board left many questions unanswered at Monday night’s special meeting, following their unexpected decision to rescind the new superintendent’s $1.9 million, five-year contract just days before he was set to begin.
Without explanation, the board voted 5-0-3 last Thursday to cancel the contract they had unanimously approved on May 28 to hire Ronnie Tarchichi, who was serving as the superintendent of the Pennsauken School District in Camden County. Tarchichi’s first day with Ramapo Indian Hills was supposed to be July 1.
