Ridgewood’s elected officials will discuss a personnel matter involving the village manager’s office next week.
The Village Council has scheduled a closed session on Tuesday, July 30, before it opens a special public meeting to discuss “the Village Manager’s Office,” according to the official notice distributed Thursday morning.
The meeting is expected to go into closed session at 6 p.m. in the Sydney V. Stoldt Courtroom.
When reached Thursday, Councilman Tom Riche said he was unable to comment on the upcoming meeting until “the appropriate time,” a notion seconded by Councilwoman Gwenn Hauck.
Councilwoman Bernadette Walsh said she learned of next week’s meeting on Wednesday, but previously scheduled commitments will likely prevent her from attending.
Mayor Paul Aronsohn did not speak to the specifics of the special meeting, stating only that the governing body is still working on several details.

Sounds like Mayor Aronsohn is trying to sneak something through over the summer when no one is around.
Nothing is being done to ‘sneak’ something over the summer. The special meeting was made known to everyone.
Your personal implication is very unfair reporting I believe.
Sounds more like someone has ended up on the Mayor’s growing list of political enemies.
I understand there will be an open meeting immediately after to put the decision (if any) on the Village record.
Perhaps, the public will be allowed to put comments on the record. Maybe even some local news and Blog reporters will be there ?
I agree sneaking around. He made a big broo ha ha when Gabberts raise was voted on in the summer. Something like it was pushed through so residents couldn’t be at the meeting because they were all on vacation. I believe the timeline is EXACTLY the same. BTW, did anyone see Ridgewood news today? Editorial on how they were called by him but they decided to hold the letter. Piled high and deep now!
Aronsohn’s rather cryptic statement regarding a “. . . smooth transition in the Manager’s office” suggests that the three Amigos have decided to fire Ken Gabbert and hire someone else. Be certain that next someone will not be a registered Republican. Be also certain that Ridgewood’s taxpayers will wind up paying big money (unnecessarily) to terminate Ken Gabbert’s employment.
Thanks for screwing us again Paul.
Paul can run but he cannot hide. The truth is catching up with him. On the Gabbert situation, on the Christie fundraiser, on the meddling with the letters to the editor, on the Riche situation…..Paul, do you really think that the good citizens that you swore to serve will let the truth be squashed? Your days of manipulating the truth are numbered. The truth always comes out in the end, Mr. Aronsohn, and you will be exposed in all cases as having been dishonest and manipulative.
Unless it is a very good acting job, which I doubt, he has been more than up front on the Valley issue. His questions to the “experts” have been right on the money.
