Hawthorne NJ, Billy Prempeh Republican Candidate For The NJ 9th Congressional District nominated Hawthorne Fire Department for our Spot Light On First Responders post.
Prempeh ·said in a Facebook post ,”Hawthorne firefighters spent half a day in the cold and rain stabilizing a Hawthorne apartment building where a floor partially collapsed over the weekend. Our firefighters don’t get enough credit for what they do! Fantastic work Hawthorne Fire Department!”
We reported on January 29th ,that early on Sunday morning, a partial collapse of a two-story brick building led to the evacuation of nine individuals and six pets from the Hawthorne Garden Apartments at 100 Rock Road. Fire Chief Joseph Speranza reported no injuries, but 12 units were evacuated due to the incident that occurred just before 10 a.m.
