Hackensack N. J. on January 13th at 1:08 PM Saturday, firefighters of Engine 1 and Special Ops 3 from the Hackensack Fire Department responded to the intersection of South River and Kansas Street where a vehicle was found submerged in water with occupants trapped inside.
Upon arrival at the scene, the highly trained firefighters wasted no time and promptly executed a daring rescue operation, successfully extricating one adult and two children from the vehicle. The incident occurred near the Shell gas station, where the vehicle had become immobilized in the water.
In addition to rescuing the individuals, the firefighters also managed to retrieve personal items from the vehicle, providing a sense of relief and comfort to those involved. Following the rescue, the occupants were safely transported to dry ground, where they were promptly reunited with a family member, ensuring their well-being and continued care.
The City of Hackensack Fire Department commends the exemplary bravery and quick thinking demonstrated by the members of Engine 1 and Special Ops 3, whose unwavering dedication to public safety undoubtedly made a life-saving difference.
