Ridgewood NJ, Some Christian groups are attacking Starbucks for the minimal design on this year’s red-and-green holiday cups.
It seems that images of snowflakes, Christmas tree ornaments and other seasonal adornments seen in previous years have all been removed.

While a Starbucks designer told FOX News the company “wanted to usher in the holidays with a purity of design that welcomes all of our stories.”
But some Christians are accusing the company of being scrooges who “hate Jesus.”

This has gone as far as to have a former Arizona pastor Joshua Feuerstein said “Starbucks REMOVED CHRISTMAS from their cups because they hate Jesus,” in a Facebook video post that’s been watched over 12 million times and shared by more than 400,000 people. Feuerstein is urging Christians to tell baristas their name is “Merry Christmas” so that they’ll be “pranked” into writing the message on the cup.

So what do you think is it a design element or does Starbucks really ,”hate Jesus”? Or simply Political Correctness gone awry.

  1. Complete assholes and really bad coffee…SHOP LOCAL

  2. Does not matter this holiday is all about money and has been for some years.

  3. That ceo will drive the stock price down with his political correctness.
How about a gender neutral, restroom for the left wingers?

  4. What does diversity mean?

We are told that we need to be inclusive of all people. If they had a Kwanza cup it would have been celebrated. Why is an American tradition looked upon as not worthy of including in our diverse culture? I will say Merry Christmas because that is my tradition. I will gladly receive the salutations from those with other traditions. Diversity means that we don’t all have to believe the same thing. And I am not just talking about religion.

Btw, I can’t boycott Starbucks. I never buy their overpriced burnt-tasting coffee.

  5. The Starbucks restrooms have always been gender neutral.

  6. I heard a priest on the radio today. He said when he went in to order his late they asked his name (which they typically write on the cup), he replied “my name is Merry Christmas”.

  7. Yea, Thanks Declan…

  8. RCC, Bagelicious, American Bulldog, etc. Take your pick…not chains – all locally owned. #noagenda

  9. You know, Starbucks is not obligated to shove Christianity down everyone’s throats – and just the fact that the cups are red is still an homage to the holiday. I don’t hear Jews complaining that the cups aren’t blue (though they might be blue in Israel, I don’t know). This is just another example of manufactured outrage from the Moral Majority.

If you want to be a Christian, then you can be one. Say “Merry Christmas”, and I will return the salutation.

As for shopping locally owned…I’ll shop where there’s value. Some of the locally owned places kind of suck. Some are great. I’ll not name names here. The Starbucks on Ridgewood avenue is staffed by friendly people, and they give free coffee to the coaches and cops who go in there in the early morning when I’m on the way home from the gym. Just because it’s a chain doesn’t make the people who work there any less local or human.

  10. 9:38 I guess you didn’t hear about the police officer in Philadelphia earlier this year.

  11. Frapz what the hell does a “police officer in Philadelphia earlier this year” have to do with the price of tea in China, or this issue? Moron.

  12. Easy to say moron when you hide Ms 359… here is the point raised by SFrapz… and while I don’t care about whatever Schultzie decides what is PC or not the point was what a barista did to a Philly cop… I also find it ironic that Schultzie doesn’t commemorate someone who turned water into something more valuable ( as in Wedding of Cana) but the commemoree did not look to take in the bucks as Howie does with the overpriced coffee… https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/PHI-Starbucks-Responds-to-Viral-Post-that-Barista-Denied-Police-Sergeant-Restroom-Access-327679561.html
