Stay tuned for tonight’s Ridgewood Council meeting
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Village Hall meeting at 8pm, during the first public statement there will be an announcement about what actions you can take if the Village Council votes in favor of bonding the proposed garage through the County. So, whether you can come out to the meeting or watch at home – stay tuned.
For those who are just getting up to speed, here’s what’s happening:
The attached new garage proposal diagram just appeared in the lobby of Village Hall. I don’t know about you, but I never imagined it would be this HUGE, let alone that, even with all the prior resident outrage, it still does not fit the municipal lot size.
Tonight our Village Council will be voting on going to the County for a $12,300,000 bond. This is going to take away our control of the process. It is going to cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars more to do this than to bond ourselves. Bonding through the County stipulates the same parking rates for everyone using it. Because of this, it will become a commuter garage for other towns to use and fill up.
Personally, I am not against a parking garage. Our town needs more parking solutions. Bonding through the County, unfortunately, isn’t the way to go.
Let’s keep in control of our wonderful town. Stay tuned for tonight’s meeting.

Time and time again, the brilliant vocalantis, ryhymes with vigilantes, get hoist by their own petard. The only reason we have gone to the County is your recalcitrant amen corner on the Village Council. I will miss tonight’s meeting as I am on a business trip. Will try to watch on the internet.
Personally Dana, I am for Mr. Slomin’s ideas. A revamping of current spaces, and using the lot behind the movie house; and two level decks here and there.
agreed 3:45 – but they are bulldozing thru to the BCIA…so we, the residents of Ridgewood, must stop them. And we will. This design is atrocious, and hardly a “compromise”.
Once they are out of office, and they will be, we can plan for what is really right for our village and not Paul Aronsohn’s political career.
Six candidates sought three open seats on the village council in Ridgewood. The results: 2012
THANKS TO EVERY ONE WHO VOTED.FOR THEASE THREE SOME OF YOU ARE NOW COMPLAINING. THINK TWICE WHEN YOU CAST YOUR VOTE THIS YEAR. PLEASE. WE ARE WHERE WE ARE NOW BECAUSE PEOPLE DRANK THE KOOL AID AND THE REST OF HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR VOTE.

3:59 don’t feed the beast (Rurik Halaby) He will never agree with you. He rather talk down to poster on this blog. A true narcissist just like his friend Big Al
After decades of talking, it’s likely going to happen. The bonding is not going to be the disaster people think based on the town and county debt ratings. For opponents, even if this goes through, the upcoming elections may alter the result. My feeling is if opponents can’t get their vote out in May, the big hangar will happen. And I still believe that most of the town is in favor.
I guess the blowhard is getting honor for defending the 3 amigos at every turn, for clapping from the audience, for yelling at people and finally going over his time limit
Don’t worry Rurik Halaby yours is coming, maybe at the next meeting
5:03… based on turnout, opponents of the “status quo” need 2600-3000 voters against the “status quo”… keep it simple.. I voted for 2 of the 3 and l am not complaining as I know what I voted for, but just trying to make it a fair fight and get more people out to vote… based on the #3 finisher in 2012, every vote does INDEED count… if you guys can get a bigger turnout and get a majority vote count, more power to you… if not, you can complain in anonymity to your heart’s content… the majority of registered voters will stay at home (as always)…. that’s your challenge
I don’t think so Paul but speaking of concrete did the village ever release the results of the investigation on who illegally
dumped the concrete at the Lakeview leaf site? How long does it take to conclude the investigation or Queen Bee think we forgot.
This large capacity Ridgewood NJT.train station plus the Godzilla Garage will be crowbaring our peaceful town into a dirty polluting regional way station of panhandlers ,drug dealers and unsafe dead zones; especially for elders and women during our dark winter months..might attract even more parking competition for the safer ground lots and street spots..All this for 15 Mil and a new county Sheriff way Station…its rediculous on its sheer face…remember this day Citizens and also those who are bringing this to a reasonably safe town,
Once the town managers realize they are losing money on this garage, they will open it up more to commuters. Bergen county will then have the parking they want and our garage will be filled with out of town commuters and no relief for town businesses.
942… aren’t both the concrete and graydon dumping still under investigation as per the RPD… nice you got the queen bee shot in there too… dont forget to vote….
Dear 8.31. And a new slum side of town shall come apon the inspired leadership of Ridgewood..we can then
throw more money into that hole too..more police patrols & personel..pensions ..etc..less Parking revenue safety boycotting by women & elders ..Dark garages in Winter mornings eves not safe.
Yes Paul I only question the fact because these incidents took place in the summer. How long does it take to investigate these Crimes of the Century? Surely our Police Dept. should have complete the investigation by now. To use one our Mayor slogans ” for the sake of Transparency ” maybe and update from Queen Bee on these investigations is in order. I have an alternate theory and that is permission was give by someone in the village hierarchy and this person is being protected for some reason. Thus no word on the investigation ( hoping that residents will forget?)

One big disaster is all this garage is going to be.

Rurik – where is the compromise from the majority? Do you think a garage 12 feet in the street is reasonable? or one 60 feet tall next to Mt. Carmel?

What political career? He’s a has been and has been for years now.
