ORADELL, NJ – A freak parking lot accident startled bystanders late Thursday afternoon, August 28, at the Oradell Public Library on Kinderkamack Road.
According to officials, a Toyota SUV either rolled or was driven down an embankment, slamming head-on into a light post. The impact caused the pole to fall and strike a parked BMW SUV.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The BMW sustained only minor damage and remained drivable, while the Toyota had to be removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.
Oradell Police Department and Oradell Fire Department quickly responded to the mishap, securing the area and clearing the damaged vehicle.
The unusual accident caused brief disruptions in the library’s parking lot but did not affect library operations.

If that was my (white) car I would be pretty pissed off…..
Looks like they parked in far corner to avoid parking lot dings, so much for that idea!
Mistake or not there’s something that stands out
Why does that municipal lot not have what are know as wheel stops, parking blocks , parking bumpers , or curb stops.
That drop looks more than 1 foot which state code requires parking lots and or garages to have where such a situation would have been prevented as an added measure of safety!and would of negated human error!
