Park Ridge NJ, a prominent strip mall on Kinderkamack Road in Park Ridge, anchored by a Lidl supermarket, has been sold for $17 million, according to an announcement by Marcus & Millichap, a real estate services firm. The Ridgemont Shopping Center, spanning 71,650 square feet, also houses Staples, Chase Bank, and Starbucks.

Westwood NJ, Wednesday morning at 6:45 am, the Westwood Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for a reported dumpster fire in a apartment building complex on Kinderkamack Road. Engine 1 arrived on scene and stretched 1 line to extinguish a well involved dumpster fire. Engine 1-2 was also on scene and assisted with overhaul.

Westwood NJ, on Saturday October 22, the Westwood Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire on Kinderkamack road. Chief 15-1 arrived on scene and had smoke showing from the rear of a 1 story strip mall. Engine 1 arrived and stretched a line to the front door of a restaurant and found fire in the kitchen with extension to the cock loft. Crews from Truck 1 laddered the building and immediately went to the roof to open up. Engine 1-2’s crew assisted is stretching a backup line and overhaul. Crews made an aggressive attack to quickly knock down the fire and hold it to the store front of origin.

Oradell NJ, since June the Borough of Oradell has debated a proposed redevelopment that would bring retail, office space and 29 apartments to the former Subaru property . On Monday, the borough’s zoning board heard from the project’s planner, the final scheduled witness for 66 Kinderkamack Road LLC’s plan to bring a three-story mixed-use development to the Kinderkamack Road site, which once housed a Subaru dealership. The next meeting, scheduled for Oct. 17, will include a public comment session and board deliberations before a potential vote.

Oradell NJ, Thursday evening, the Oradell fire department responded to the 300 block of Kinderkamack Road for a reported fire at Family Nails . Arriving companies encountered a working fire with a moderate smoke condition inside of a nail salon. The fire was quickly extinguished with no extension to adjoining stores. The cause has not yet been officially determined.

Oradell NJ, according to the Building owner Tom Didio, a longtime resident of the borough and husband of Mayor Dianne Didio, plans to build apartments in Oradells downtown are being put on hold in light of the discovery that a century-old building is just too old to allow for the improvements the owner envisioned. The project would have been built at 387-393 Kinderkamack Road, the 1927 Hinck building in the heart of the downtown that once housed Panico Salon and Spa.

River Edge NJ, A single vehicle, Wednesday afternoon, 07/29, crash at the intersection of Kinderkamack Road and Rutgers Place, River Edge, resulted in a serious injury to the Honda Civic’s adult female driver. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. River Edge Police and River Edge Fire Department responded to the incident along with hospital consortium ALS and BLS units. The wrecked Civic was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.

Oradell NJ, Two properties in the borough of Oradell are being eyed for new housing, one that would bring age-restricted housing to Kinderkamack Road and another that would give a face-lift to a downtown building along with new apartments. But only in New Jersey could the husband of the mayor buy a property and then have it immediately re-zoned for high density housing and no one blinks an eye.

River Edge NJ, Portions of a protective overhang and facade of a strip mall located on Kinderkamack Road in River Edge collapsed on Tuesday morning, 07/03. River Edge Fire Department called upon the services of numerous area fire departments to assist with the primary search for any trapped occupants/patrons. Bergen County Executive James Tedesco was on the scene personally leading a team of Bergen County OEM representatives. Several blocks of Kinderkamack Road were closed to vehicular traffic while emergency responders worked. No immediate injuries were reported, but the removal of downed building debris had not yet begun at the time of this post.
