A New Era for TAPinto Ridgewood: Rebecca Greene Takes the Helm as Jason DeAlessi Bids Farewell
the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, After five years of documenting the milestones, challenges, and heartbeat of the Village, TAPinto Ridgewood is officially entering a new chapter. Today, February 28, 2026, marks the final day of ownership for Jason DeAlessi, who is passing the torch to a seasoned local media professional.
Meet the New Publisher: Rebecca Greene
The future of Ridgewood’s local reporting is in experienced hands. The new publisher is reportedly Rebecca Greene, a former veteran of The Record. Greene is a familiar name in North Jersey journalism, already successfully operating several TAPinto franchises, including:
-
Fair Lawn/Glen Rock
-
Paramus
-
Hawthorne
Greene’s deep roots in the area suggest a continued commitment to the high-quality, hyper-local journalism Ridgewood residents have come to rely on.
A Legacy of Community First
Reflecting on his half-decade tenure, outgoing owner Jason DeAlessi shared a poignant message with the community. For DeAlessi, Ridgewood was more than just a beat; it was a connection that started with childhood bike rides through Saddle River County Park.
“Covering Ridgewood has never felt like covering ‘a town.’ It’s felt like documenting a living, breathing community,” DeAlessi noted in his farewell address.
He highlighted the town’s resilience, specifically pointing to the Ridgewood Pedestrian Plaza during the pandemic as a symbol of how the community adapts and thrives in the face of uncertainty. From student achievements to the quiet work of local volunteers, DeAlessi’s tenure focused on the “people behind the headlines.”
TAPinto Ridgewood was not without its Controversies
As a new team prepares to take over today, questions remain oiver the objectivity of the Tap.
Over the years the the objectivity and dubious relationship between Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos and Jason DeAlessi, the franchise holder of TapInto Ridgwood has been high lighted on this blog and reported in other news outlets . Jason DeAlessi is also the owner/Operator of the Fuerza Strategy Group also ran Ridgewood Paul Vagiano’s campaigns.
Tap into Ridgewood was created at the end of March 2021. Jason DeAlessi (aka “Sleek Media, LLC) is the franchise owner (and up until a few days ago, he was the editor of record. . . still trying to figure out who is his replacement (or, realistically, not)). Every single piece they write bashes the anti-Arohnshon crowd, guts Susan Knudsen, supports JOLTS.
Jason DeAlessi also owns Fuerza Strategy Group. He was Paul Vagianos’ campaign manager the last time Paul ran for office. Jason and Fuerza Strategy Group employ Donna Abene, Treasurer of the “Paul Vagianos for Village Counsel Campaign.” Donna’s address, in her PV campaign capacity, is Fuerza Strategy. Donna is the Vice-Chair at Democratic Legislative District 39 and Democratic Organization of Bergen County. According to her Linked-In page she has “served as Campaign Manager, Deputy Campaign Manager, and Treasurer on many local and state races.” Add Paul Vagianos campaign to the list.
So Tap into Ridgewood is directly involved in Paul Vagianos’ campaign, there is no denying this. It’s all available on Google if anyone wants to verify this information.
Jason DeAlessi is also on the Board of Directors of the LWV. And, yes, that is who hosted the debate where they tossed softball questions at Paul and tough, biased questions at Ms. Hooban. Ms. Hooban was decidedly disadvantaged in the questioning.

Is Rebecca Greene also a sold out to Paul Vagianos money or is she an independent voice?
We’ll know if she “resigns” to spend more time with family.
Has been a cheap imitation of Russian State Media.
Let’s hope Rebecca cleans the mess up.
Ugh. Pretending to be an independent journalistic voice while supporting certain individuals and unfairly blasting others has made this rag a no-read, ever.
Her first article is kissing a** of Mayor Vagianos.
Looks like Jason had stopped pondering to Vagianos in last couple of years, so he was replaced with this new editor!
