Ridgewood NJ, Just when I thought I’d seen it all, the latest “Ridgewood Parks and Recreation News” arrived at my home via US Mail this week, and in it I was shocked to find notice of a upcoming program entitled: LETS STAY ACQUAINTED WITH GWENN HAUCK “Community Wide Outreach of Available Senior Services.”
The Councilwoman’s name was printed in bold caps and was highlighted in yellow. The names of no other Village Council members appear anywhere within the two (2) page newsletter, nor, for that matter, do the names of any Village of Ridgewood Parks and Recreation Department employees.
“Mayor’s Office Hours For Residents”, “The Mayor’s Corner,” now “LETS STAY ACQUAINTED WITH GWENN HAUCK.” When can we expect the Deputy Mayor to announce his regular offering?
Can we just put an end to all of this self promotion, please. Next thing you know, we’ll be painting the names of Council members on municipal vehicles and hanging names off of signs to our parks just like they do in Hudson County. We’ve got to stop this ego driven madness now.
All news sources, politicians and Blogs do a lot of self-promotion. Hope to increase their “news worthy” additions. Its Holiday time relax a little.

This is unbelievable. Absolutely outrageous. Were the other elected members of the council given an opportunity to self promote on the taxpayers’ dime? No? I thought not. This is illegal. I want to have a let’s get to know ME better and I want it publicized in a gas payer-funded mailing. This is over the top.
Promote yourself at your own expense, not at the expense of taxpayers Gwenn.
And I’d love to see a cancelled check from Mayor Aronsohn’s personal checking account to prove that he paid for those robo calls about the garage. With his own money, not with left over campaign contributions.
Gwenn Hauck has millions. The fact that she stole the Park and Rec headline is really low brow. Who wrote it for her? Cronin, Mr. Or Mrs. Aronsohn? She has trouble string three sentences together let alone writing an article. It’s an overall abuse of office.
Getting ready to run for reelection. What nerve.
I would rather stay acquainted with Mike and Susan, thank you very much. And I would rather that my tax dollars advertise them, not Ms. Hauck. How in the hell did she get away with this?????
Is it true that she pays for the food served at the luncheons out of her own pocket? Buying votes; what a novel idea!
She should pay for it. Her daddy has big buck. Time for another African Safari for the Queen.
Give those people who attend those free luncheons a couple of cookies and they would vote Jack the Riper. ” Its for free it for me and I will take three”
