Glen Rock NJ, a 19-year-old Paterson man was charged after attempting to retrieve an impounded vehicle with a fraudulent insurance card, according to Glen Rock police.
Fake Insurance Card Leads to Criminal Charge
On January 30, Jacere L. Gary arrived at the Glen Rock Police Department to recover his impounded vehicle, which had been previously seized due to lack of insurance.
When Gary presented an insurance card, officers determined it was a forgery. As a result, he was charged with exhibiting a fraudulent document to law enforcement, a fourth-degree crime under New Jersey law.
Legal Consequences and Next Steps
Following the charge, Gary was released on his own recognizance and is now awaiting an appearance before Central Judicial Processing at the Superior Court in Hackensack.
