Tenafly NJ, according to Tenafly police a Tenafly teenager was killed in a car crash Saturday night in the borough.
Tenafly Police Chief Robert Chamberlain said, “Tenafly Police responded to the crash at 10 p.m. Saturday at Knickerbocker Road and Columbus Drive.” Chamberlain continued ,”A 2008 Volkswagen Passat with four passengers left the road and struck a tree on Knickerbocker Road,”
The Dumont Rescue Company responded as well as Dumont and Tenafly Fire Departments along with EMS and worked diligently to remove a heavily entrapped individual. Unfortunately, the driver succumbed to injuries at the scene.
The driver, a 19-year-old from Tenafly, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not immediately identify the victim because they needed time to notify the family.
The front-seat passenger, a 32-year-old Bayonne woman, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Tenafly and Dumont fire departments and was taken to the hospital. Two other passengers, a Cresskill woman and a Bergenfield man, both 20, were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
