Hackensack NJ, according to City of Hackensack Fire Officials there was a two-car motor vehicle accident in front of 139 Route 17 South on Thanksgiving, which resulted in one of the vehicles crashing into the building. Hackensack Engine 2, Rescue 1 and Deputy 3 responded.
Upon arrival firefighters checked both vehicle operators for injuries and provided first aid to one patient who was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for necessary treatment by BLS.
Firefighters secured power to the building as well as checking the structures integrity.
The building department also responded to the scene and red-tagged the structure due to the damage caused. It’s a relief that the structure was unoccupied at the time of the accident, and we’re thankful that no further injuries were reported. Firefighters remained on scene as the vehicle was removed from the building by on-duty city tow.
