Ridgewood NJ, The 6th Annual Michael Feeney’s Best Day Ever Event. This year it will be held this coming Saturday June, 8th, 2018 at BF Middle School Field. The Best Day Ever event sponsors many great causes including the Jr. Police Academy! So, bring the family for a fun day of carnival games and a color run, all for a great cause. You can register on Ridgewood Community Pass.
Michael Feeney died on Black Friday 2013 after a 4-year battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a pediatric bone cancer. He was 10 years old. Throughout his short, but big life, Michael showed enormous courage. Michael was never without a smile, and he inspired all who knew him. It is no surprise that our Junior Police Academy is named after him!
To honor Michael, his family holds an annual fundraiser. The day kicks off with a Color Fun Run, then a butterfly release, followed by a huge carnival with games and bounce houses. You might even see some familiar faces such as police officers, teachers, and the council volunteering at the dunk tank! The event runs from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Some of this year’s proceeds will benefit: Tackle Kids Cancer, The Go for the Goal Foundation, The Nick Currey Fund, The Chief Michael Feeney Junior Police Academy, and the JDRF. Additionally, they look to provide some best days for sick children and their families, which are truly amazing.
