Rochelle Park NJ, The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Rochelle Park Police Department are requesting information from the public regarding a motor vehicle accident which resulted in a motorcyclist suffering fatal injuries.
At approximately 8:42 pm on Tues, March 9, 2021, the Rochelle Park Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle accident in front of 199 Route 17S. Responding officers located the victim, a motorcyclist, with severe head trauma in the southbound lanes. An investigation revealed that a maroon/red semi-trailer truck slowed down to a stop in the right lane of Route 17S due to traffic ahead. A motorcycle traveling behind the semi-truck was unable to brake in time and struck the truck’s rear left tires. The semi-truck continued south on Route 17. The motorcyclist, 41-year-old Mario Andres Uran Gaviria of Elmwood Park, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

So it was a motorcyclist that died.
I used to play softball down on fields next to Route 21. Guys would ride their motorcycles well over 70mph after getting out work. They would swerve in between moving cars. Just crazy, unsafe driving.
