>The fly on the wall wonders. . .

>What’s up at the Board of Education? In a VERY, VERY unusual move, the BOE has scheduled two separate Executive Sessions during their Monday, November 27th public meeting. The first Executive Session is slotted for early in the meeting, prior to the public comment section. The fly can’t remember ever seeing an agenda like this.

Anyone have a clue as to what’s going on? Rumors are swirling that there will be changes at the BOE…

  1. >some of these folks should walk the plank ..happy thanksgiving

  2. >It is possible that one session will include Arilotta (for non-personnel issues) and one session will not include him (report from the sarch committee since he is a candidate for the Super job.)

  3. >The agenda indicates that BOE Vice President Robert Hutton will be running the show on Monday. I wonder where BOE President Mark Bombace is? On duty at the Fire Department, on vacation, or . . .

  4. >”It is possible that one session will include Arilotta (for non-personnel issues) and one session will not include him (report from the sarch committee since he is a candidate for the Super job.)”

Rather than keeping the public sitting around and waiting during an early Executive Session, why wouldn’t they just ask Dr. Arilotta to excuse himself from a late session at an appropriate time?

  5. >These people have families and lives too people…Maybe Mark Bombase is visiting family or friends for the holiday, or is that not allowed when you work for the Board of Ed or Village?

  6. >We could only be so lucky to have wholesale turnover in this group. They are so afraid to take a position that they are ineffective. Watching a board meeting is painful. What we really need is a group of recently retired executives to take control, who have a proven record of efficiently running large organizations and have the time to devote to this important board. The current group doesn’t have a clue and needs to go…

  7. >Your friendly Village idiot says,

Unbelievable! How is it possible that educated people (at least the bloggers commenting here can type indicating some intelligence) can make such foolish statements?

The agenda indicates that BOE Vice President Robert Hutton will be running the show on Monday. I wonder where BOE President Mark Bombace is? On duty at the Fire Department, on vacation, or . . .

Does someone’s service to the community prohibit them from missing any meetings? What, and more importantly why, does it matter that Mr. Bombace is not available? Should Mr. Bombace have to post on the Internet his reasons for not being in attendance at a meeting….I don’t think so.

We could only be so lucky to have wholesale turnover in this group. They are so afraid to take a position that they are ineffective. Watching a board meeting is painful. What we really need is a group of recently retired executives to take control, which have a proven record of efficiently running large organizations and have the time to devote to this important board. The current group doesn’t have a clue and needs to go…

What makes this poster believe that a recently retired executive could do a better job? Successful proven executives ran ENRON, WorldCom, Delphi, Kmart, etc (and I could go on and on. The running of a company and the complexities of running of a local School Board are so different. What is obvious is that this poster is the one who doesn’t have a clue.

  8. >I think the village idiot is not informed of much, his pro BOE stance is one that is very suspicious.

He seems to enjoy posting on BOE and Ridgewood Fire issues.

I wish i had the ability to see I.P.’S this place could become very interesting.

  9. >Anonymous’s pro BOE comments above criticize the idea of BOE members with corporate management experience and conveniently avoids one of the most important criterea…”a proven record of efficiently running an organization”. The issues are EXACTLY the same. Obviously, ENRON, WorldCom and Delphi were ultimately NOT successfully and efficiently run…

  10. >So comrade your saying the BOE is like ENRON?

  11. >the difference between the private sector and the public sector is when you fail in the private sector you get fired ,if you fail in the public sector you raise taxes

  12. >To: Their eyes are watching god,

I would be willing to meet with you anytime and anywhere you like. Just let me know where and when.

    Your friendly Village Idiot

  13. >To: Their eyes are watching god,

No reply? Your not interested in meeting me? How about if I buy you a coffee, soda, or a beer (if you drink) or some other type of refreshment if we meet…..

    Your friendly Village Idiot

PS By the way I see you are hiding your ISP Address, why is that?

  14. >Ok,

Im not interested in meeting you, i already know you, trust me on this.

Who knows, i might even have worked with/for you.

Im not hiding anything, cause i have nothing to hide. I just think what your doing is wrong, and irresponsible.

The number 38 mean anything to you?

I wont reply after this, but ill check for your response and see you during the week.

i think it would best to just come out with who you are. rather to remain a blank. For someone who seems intelligent on issues, to hide under a cloak is kinda dumb, don’t you think?

  15. >To: Their eyes are watching god,

    Still no reply? Hmmmm…… Interesting.

    Your friendly Village Idiot

  16. >To: Their eyes are watching god, (AKA A Color Purple)

I have no problem with you not wanting to meet with me. That is your choice. You say that you know who I am. I seriously doubt that…

Maybe you don’t have anything to hide, and maybe you do, but either way it doesn’t matter to me.

You said you think what I am doing is wrong, and irresponsible. I can’t help but wonder how you come to this conclusion?

I really don’t care if you respond or not…

I see you would like me to identify who I am yet you do not identify yourself…..I find that very interesting.

    Your friendly Village Idiot

  17. >could this little exchange get any MORE lame?

  18. >It just did!
