Wood-Ridge NJ, Wood-Ridge Police Department reminds everyone to be on alert! With the holiday season approaching, “porch pirates” are out more than ever due to the increase in deliveries around town. Some tips for preventing these kinds of theft include: choose in store pickup, bring your packages inside as soon as possible, have a visible security camera and/or video doorbell. If you see someone actively stealing a package… DO NOT confront them. Call police, while obtaining as much of a description as possible including clothing they’re wearing, make/model/color of vehicle they’re using, direction they headed after the theft. Also, we cannot say this enough… make sure your vehicle doors are locked, key fob is not left inside, and valuables are out of sight.

  1. Do what I do, I got a bag and I filled up my dogs Doodoo, And then I put it in an Amazon box seal it up. And just leave it at the front door for a week let somebody come pick it up, enjoy boy are they going to have a surprise.

    1. Is keeping a box of shit on your porch really winning?

    2. Love that idea. They get what they deserve.

  2. Is that a new way to go shopping.

  3. Yeah it’s worth having a box of shit on my porch, I really don’t care because it’s in a plastic bag tied up no smell. They will learn. Nice surprise isn’t it. I do it every month. It’s hilarious to watch them on my surveillance camera.
