Ridgewood NJ, The Maple Field turf replacement project is underway. The old turf has been removed. Councilmen Ramone Hache says that ,according to the vendor, the production and shipping of the new turf is on schedule. In the meantime, crews will be working on the leveling of the sub base and conducting tests to ensure proper drainage. The replacement should be completed by early June.
How much did that cost
It would be more prudent to revert to grass in all cases where the field is in the floodplain.

$20 bucks says we’ll have a major flooding event late this summer and the new turf will be wiped out.
No one has told me what the new infill will be made of. If it is crumb rubber then we can expect the past to repeat itself both financially and environmentally.
