Subject: Parking Campaign — Three Things

Dear Neighbor –

The November 3rd  election is just two weeks away.  That means our campaign to build a downtown parking deck is entering its final stretch.

To generate both education and excitement … I recommend the following three things:

Parking Forum:  This Wednesday (10/21), we will be holding an interactive forum to discuss the proposed parking deck.  Meet and talk with representatives of our design firm, Desman.  Meet and talk with Village CFO / Parking Utility Director Bob Rooney.  Ask questions.  Get answers.  Village Hall 4th floor Council Chamber at7:30pm.  Please join us.  Everyone is welcome.

Questions & Answers:  Attached is a two-pager that addresses questions that have been asked of me.  I hope you find it useful.

Draft Parking Deck Rendering:  Attached is a draft rendering of a Hudson Street Parking Deck.  It’s a work in progress that reflects input from several people, including members of the Historic Preservation Commission.  Take a look.   Share your thoughts.   Your input is wanted.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hope to see you on Wednesday.

Thanks,

Paul

  1. Voters beware remember that the cost of the village hall did one thing, up,up and away. This garage will be the same.

  2. Looks like he got the message about his first blast being a bit over the top.

  3. If built, this project will surely be the nightmare of all nightmares.

  4. “Our campaign,” yet he signs it solo. Does he have multiple personalities? Dumb and Dumber?

  5. His continued use of a personal e-mail account in connection with Village business (messages signed “Mayor, Village of Ridgewood”) now means any messages to and from that account are available via OPRA, right?

  6. Who paid for those signs? No notice on the signs themselves as to who/what organization is responsible.

  7. Regarding the email, it seems to me perfectly appropriate to not use an official email address to campaign for the garage. It would in fact be inappropriate to use a government email address to persuade voters in an election.

As for the signature that is totally untrue. A candidate running for re-election signs his emails using his title but those emails, if from a campaign address, are not open records.

  8. Carpe tbagging weasel…TIME TO GO

  9. My neighbor is a “townie”…second-generation Villager plus she works at town hall.

She has a Vagianos / Ordway sign in her front yard as well as a say “yes” to the garage sign.

This garage plan is a bad deal…we need to come out strong and defeat this thing by 4:1 ratio so that whomever we elect to replace the 3 Amigos gets the idea that the taxpayers and homeowners don’t want their town to look like Fort Lee.

  10. She wants to keep her job or looking for a big raise 3:53. Thats the model at village hall ” Tow the party line or no raise for you and you be luck to keep your job.” Remember they have friends waiting in the wings to take anyone job at village hall.

  11. Brian, What Aronsohn is doing is so far from appropriate. What do you think we are all stupid? His two outrageous emails make it seem like THE ENTIRE COUNCIL is supporting the garage. His use of WE and OUR clearly implies this. Aronsohn is a slick operator, slick as in greasy, slimy, and filled with infectious material like mucus.

  12. This photo of him is priceless. It is vintage. He has the doe-in-the-headlights look that he always has when people are speaking at meetings. He is not listening to a thing anyone says. If it were a video instead of a still shot, you would shortly see him patting the air with his hand in an attempt to squelch whatever the member of the public might be saying. And then he would suggest that transparency and drilling down would be in order.
