Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Historical Society will celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Schoolhouse with a Gala at Felina Restaurant on Thursday, May 18th. The fundraising event will feature dinner, a wine bar, live music by Souled Out, and fabulous auction items.
One of the evening’s honorees will be Dacey Latham
A Ridgewood resident for over 40 years, Dacey is a beloved former Ridgewood Public School teacher and librarian. She taught English at Benjamin Franklin Middle School from 1964 -1981 and then worked as the librarian at Travell School until June 2005.
Dacey moved along Glen Avenue to the Schoolhouse Museum in retirement to educate young people about local history. Her love of books and librarianship also drew her to the College Club Book Fair, which she has co-chaired for the last decade.
The event aims to raise funds for Dacey’s “museum wish list.” Items in need include a computer, printer, craft supplies, funds for bus transportation and dress-up clothing for children who visit the museum.
