Ridgewood Knights Serve Up A Smorgasbord

Ridgewood-NJ-December 23, 2025: The Ridgewood Knights of Columbus Council #1736 held their annual senior citizens Christmas party in the Parish Center at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Sunday, December 21st. Guests were treated to a buffet lunch, entertainment, Christmas carols, and a surprise visit from Santa Claus. “We are proud to host this event every year, honoring the finest citizens of Ridgewood”, said John Walicki, Grand Knight of the Ridgewood council. “I’d especially like to thank Mark Stappenbeck for coordinating the gifts, and all of the local restaurants that assisted with the food donations”, said Walicki.
In addition to homemade favorites cooked up by the Knights, the following restaurants contributed as well:
- Café 37
- Chestnut Deli
- La Lanterna
- Meltemi
- Renatos
- The Best of Everything
The entertainment included the student choir from Academy of Our Lady School in Glen Rock. The choir was directed by Mrs. Stephanie Budelman, and accompanied by Peter Sicko on the piano. Afterward a quartet of Ridgewood High School musicians entertained the crowd with traditional Christmas carols. Both groups thrilled the partygoers and all in attendance. Finally, Santa arrived and distributed gifts for all.
