North Maple Ave is closed at Linwood Ave to northbound traffic until 3:00 pm today for utility work. A detour is in place. The stable parking lot can be accessed from driving southbound on N.Maple Ave.

The Ridgewood Police Department was formally bestowed their International Re-accreditation Certification

On March 23, 2013 The Ridgewood Police Department was formally bestowed their International Re-accreditation Certification from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The Department was the third agency in New Jersey to achieve International Accreditation status in 1996. The Department has consistently maintained International Accreditation status through CALEA for the past 17 years and was designated as a Flagship (benchmark) Agency through CALEA in the 2010 re-accreditation review. In addition The Ridgewood Police Department maintains State Accreditation through the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. The department also is a member of the NJ Public Safety Accreditation Coalition.

To maintain CALEA Accreditation status the agency voluntarily subjects itself to continuous internal and independent reviews to ensure compliance with internationally accepted best practices. The department is inspected by independent assessors and must prove that it is meeting and/or exceeding over 480 best practice standards in addition to the proofs which must be provided to demonstrate compliance with local, county, state and federal laws and administrative regulations.
